GAP YEAR
What is a Gap year?
A 'Gap Year' is a year designated for a time out of education, usually after you finish your exams in year eleven. It gives young people the opportunity to travel the world, pick up a new skill or have some life experiences in which they would never got if they carried on education. After the year is over people usually go back to University and carry on with their studies. |
Some of the potential places I could visit in a gap year I have chosen. When doing a gap year, I would spend six months of my year up working and saving up money to go on a gap year to. Then the next six months will be spent travelling around. I would really want to go on a gap year with other friends, due to this making my experience overall better and more fun. These are some places in which I could visit when on a gap year, however I am very interested in doing inter railing around Europe and also visiting South East Asia with countries such as Vietnam and Cambodia.

I did research into interrailing and how much interrailing it would be. I wanted to look up the prices for the length of time going. For example, if I was going to go away for 5 days within 15 days this would cost £189 where as if I went away for 1 month this would cost £462. This all depends how long I would like to go away for and how much money I have to spend. Next to the pricing picture it shows the costs of many different countries I could possibly go to, Denmark, Germany, France, Sweden and Greece. I could go to as many countries as possible in this time to really go and see many different cultures and places within my gap year. |
